Defense Klaus Integration
The Anonymous Sign-Up Process
Defense Klaus sponsors use the same interface to sign up recipients:
Email Entry Box (multi-line)
- Each email entered = $6 added to contribution
- Emails do not need to be tied to recipient identity
- Sponsor email can also be anonymous
Instructions to User:
“Enter email addresses for recipients. These should be emails they can access, but do not need to be associated with their legal identity.”
Process Flow:
Enter email → $6 added → Click Next → Disappears → In database
Already Registered Email Handling
When an entered email is already in the system:

│ This email is already registered. │
│ │
│ Would you like to add $[AMOUNT] to the │
│ Legal Defense Fund anyway? │
│ │
│ [ Enter Amount: $6 ] │

└─────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Note: The overlay covers the email so it is not displayed, protecting the registered user’s presence in the system.
The Normalization Design
The Defense Klaus sign-up is designed to be:
- Simple: Add email, click next, done
- Integrated: Same flow as general sponsorship
- Unobtrusive: Single action, then interface moves on
This creates a low-friction path for anyone to add recipients to legal protection.
Technical Flow
Standard Sponsorship
1. Sponsor enters contribution amount
2. System calculates allocation:

- Memberships: $5 × recipients
- CoDoG: Remainder
3. Default initiatives pre-selected (LMD + DK)
4. Sponsor can modify allocations
5. Email entry for recipients
6. Each email = additional funds added
7. Submit → Processing → Confirmation
Defense Klaus Only
1. Sponsor selects "Defense Klaus Sponsorship"
2. Email entry box appears (multi-line)
3. Each email = $6 added
4. If email exists → Overlay asks about Fund contribution
5. Submit → Emails processed → Confirmations sent
