Factory Nodes: Distributed Manufacturing Network

Own equipment? Earn bounties. Build the future.

What Is a Node?

A Factory Node is a registered manufacturing location in Liana Banyan’s decentralized network. Nodes can be:

  • A maker with a 3D printer in their garage
  • A small fabrication shop with CNC equipment
  • A regional manufacturing facility with injection molding
  • A full factory with production lines

Every node earns bounties for manufacturing work. The bigger your capabilities, the bigger the bounties you can claim.

Node Tiers

TierEquipmentTypical Bounties
PrototypeFDM/SLA 3D printerSingle prototypes, test prints
Small BatchSLS printer (Formlabs)Limited runs (11-100 units)
Medium RunDesktop injection moldingProduction runs (101-1,000)

Mass ProductionFactory lineFull production (10,001+)

You can register at any tier. Start with what you have, upgrade as you grow.

Pioneer Nodes (First 100)

The first 100 nodes to register receive special benefits:

Pioneer Benefits

  • Subsidized equipment cost — Platform helps fund upgrades
  • Priority bounty assignments — First pick on new bounties
  • Higher Joule allocation — More ownership stake per job
  • “Pioneer Node” badge — Permanent recognition
  • Governance weight — Extra voting power in platform decisions

Pioneer slots are limited. Once 100 nodes register, these benefits close.

Node Economics

The 3/5 + 2/5 Split

As a node operator, your time splits:

2/5Work on your own projectsUse platform IP freely

This means you’re not just a contractor — you’re a partner. Use the platform’s 928+ innovations for your own products during your 2/5 time.

Certification Process

Step 1: Register

Fill out the registration form with:

  • Your equipment list
  • Your location
  • Your availability commitment

Step 2: Verification

  • Upload photos of your setup
  • Receive a test file to produce
  • Submit the test piece for quality review

Step 3: Activation

Once verified:

  • Your node appears on the network map
  • You start receiving bounty notifications
  • You can claim bounties matching your tier

Step 4: Build Reputation

  • Complete bounties on time
  • Maintain quality standards
  • Earn Marks and positive reviews
  • Unlock higher-value bounties

Response Time Commitment

When you register, you commit to a response time:

CommitmentWhat It Means
4 hoursPremium tier, highest priority bounties
12 hoursStandard tier, good bounty access
24 hoursBasic tier, regular bounties
48 hoursCasual tier, overflow bounties
72 hoursMinimal tier, low-priority only

Faster response = better bounties. But only commit to what you can actually deliver.

Quality Standards

All nodes must meet these standards:

Dimensional Accuracy

  • ±0.2mm for prototype tier
  • ±0.1mm for production tiers

Surface Finish

  • No visible layer lines (SLA/SLS)
  • Consistent finish across batch

Material Compliance

  • Use specified materials only
  • Document material sources
  • No substitutions without approval

Documentation

  • Photo documentation of each job
  • Measurement records
  • Shipping confirmation

Bounty Claiming

How It Works

  1. Browse — See available bounties matching your tier
  2. Claim — Lock in the bounty (others can’t take it)
  3. Produce — Complete the work to spec
  4. Submit — Upload photos, ship the product
  5. Get Paid — Receive Credits, Marks, and/or Joules

Design Battles

If 2+ nodes claim the same bounty, it becomes a Design Battle:

  • All participants produce their version
  • Community votes on the best
  • Winner takes 50% of the pot + Crow Feathers
  • Others still get paid (just less)

This ensures competition drives quality.

FAQ

Do I need a business license?

For prototype tier, no. For production tiers, we recommend it for liability protection.

Can I be a node in multiple tiers?

Yes! Register all your equipment. You’ll receive bounties matching each capability.

What if I can’t complete a bounty?

Contact us immediately. We’ll reassign the bounty. Repeated failures affect your reputation.

How do I upgrade my tier?

Add equipment, verify it, and your tier automatically updates.

Can I work for other platforms too?

Yes. Your equipment is yours. But bounties claimed here must be completed here.
