This paper introduces a novel mechanism for cooperative platform economics: margin sacrifice as mutual credit. Traditional mutual credit systems (WIR, Sardex, time banks) create liquidity based on labor or goods exchanged. We propose extending this model to margin sacrifice—the difference between a seller’s reference price and their transparent Cost + 20% price. For every dollar of margin sacrificed, the seller earns one dollar of purchasing power within the ecosystem. This transforms cooperative pricing from an act of faith requiring deferred gratification into a complete economic exchange with immediate liquidity.
