Platform Architecture
“A magical kingdom held together by trees. Protected by interconnection.”
The Organizing Metaphor
Every technical decision at Liana Banyan flows from a single image: an underwater kingdom protected by interlocking mangrove roots.
This isn’t just poetry. It’s architecture:
- Roots = Shared infrastructure (Supabase, authentication)
- Trunks = Independent deployments (Firebase sites)
- Branches = Feature modules
- Leaves = User-facing interfaces
- The Ocean = Hostile economic forces held at bay
Yggdrasil: The World Tree
Named for the Norse world tree that connects all realms, Yggdrasil is the platform’s deployment architecture.

Each pillar deploys independently but shares the same root system.
Submarine Door Pattern
If one pillar is compromised, close the submarine doors. The blast is contained. Other pillars survive.
This isn’t paranoia—it’s learned wisdom from watching centralized platforms fail catastrophically.
Bifrost: The Rainbow Bridge
Named for the bridge connecting Asgard to Midgard, Bifrost handles:
- Authentication across all pillars
- Data synchronization between systems
- API gateway for external integrations
Hofund: The Key
Hofund (Heimdall’s sword that activates Bifrost) is the access control system:
- Role-based permissions
- Medallion-verified identity
- Graduated trust levels
The Observatory
“Shell-weighted progress calculation with feature-level status indicators”
The Observatory provides radical transparency:
- Every project’s real status, visible to all
- Every worker’s contribution, tracked and attributed
- Every funding source, auditable
Status indicators:
- ✅ Complete
- 🔄 In Progress
- ⏳ Waiting
- ⚠️ Blocked
- 🔴 Critical
- ⚫ Not Started
Currency Systems
Three-Gear Differential
From the transcript (December 1, 2025):
“How many credits should a $100 Founder’s Circle medallion grant?”
The answer required designing a complete economic model:
| Currency | How Obtained | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Credits | Purchased | Backing projects, purchasing |
| MARKS | Earned through work | Compensation, voting |
| Joules | Investment returns | Ownership stakes |
The gears mesh but don’t conflate. You can’t buy your way to MARKS. You can’t earn your way to Credits. Each serves its purpose.
The Star Chamber
Nine versions. Multiple AI models. Double-blind verification.
The Star Chamber isn’t one AI—it’s a council:
- ROOK (strategic planning)
- KNIGHT (execution)
- BISHOP (documentation)
- JARVIS, FRIDAY, etc. (specialized tasks)
The Moneypenny Protocol
No AI output goes live without verification by a second AI that didn’t see the first’s work. This catches hallucinations before they become problems.
MimicTrunk: Staged Trust
Five stages from trainee to commander:
Stage 1: Trainee ─── ★☆☆☆☆ (AI guides all)
Stage 2: Junior ─── ★★☆☆☆ (Founder approves)
Stage 3: Lieutenant ─── ★★★☆☆ (Peer review)
Stage 4: Senior ─── ★★★★☆ (Self-directed)
Stage 5: Commander ─── ★★★★★ (Trains others)
Trust is earned, not granted. Autonomy increases with demonstrated competence.

The Principle
“Design first as design so can design changes over design.”
The architecture itself is designed to evolve. Nothing is permanent except the commitment to interconnection.
For the Keep. For the Kingdom held together by trees.
